Nursing Home, Greensburg
This project involves remodeling an operating 135 bed nursing home that runs a ventilator unit and which has an extensive rehabilitation practice. We are working on this facility while it is staffed, occupied, and fully operational. Because of that we are required to carry out the construction with a significant set of rules and oversight. Mess must be absolutely kept to a minimum, patient and employee safety cannot be left to chance, we interact heavily with staff, residents, family members, and the occasional pet or two. During the tenure of this project residents eat, sleep, socialize, receive medical care, and watch us work. We rely on the facility staff to help us with this work, especially when remodeling patient rooms and common areas.
This extensive remodel project includes replacement windows, moving and removing walls, relocating doors, demolition, replacing electrical panels, installing cultured stone, adding kitchen equipment, painting and staining, patching, new flooring, faux beams to hide sprinkler pipes, moving sprinklers, adding closet space, wallpaper removal, texture coating walls, and a long list of other items. The facility's maintenance team assists us daily and continually inspects our work; because once we're done, they are the ones who will maintain the work.
